SPPU-affiliated colleges asked to form counselling committees

On Thursday, the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) announced through a circular that all colleges affiliated to it will need to form a committee of experts to provide counseling to its students. The move is in the wake of increasing number of student suicides. The committees are expected to work towards maintaining students’ mental and psychological health and function round the year. Modi’s Teachers’ Day speech to be streamed live on DD web

With an aim to ensure wider reach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s interaction with school students on the Teachers’ Day, live streaming will also be made available through web channels of Doordarshan, PMO and the HRD Ministry.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay started registrations for its annual robotics competition, e-Yantra. The competition is sponsored by the ministry of human resource development.

Students from over 600 affiliated colleges of Savitribai Phule Pune University have demanded scrapping of an ‘unfair’ re-evaluation rule. According to the system, re-evaluation marks will be shared with students  only if the difference between the original marks and the marks obtained after re-evaluation exceeds by at least 10 per cent of the maximum marks of a particular subject. PUNE: Students from various colleges held a protest march demanding waiving of parking charges on the college premises on Friday. More than 50 students took part in the protest.

Students from Fergusson College, ILS Law College, Institute of Management & Development Research, Modern College and BMCC College took part in the rally.
