Cops hold school bus safety meet

PUNE:Committees Can Check If Bus Operators Follow Policy On Presence Of A Lady Attendant

The school bus transport policy, which mandates the presence of a lady attendant on the bus, can only be effectively implemented if schools constitute the transport committees, say parents and transport officials.Herein lies the lapse. Most schools in the city don’t hold meeting of the school bus transport committee though they are supposed to as per the new bus policy for safety of children being ferried in school buses. Pune Camp: Fearing yet another drive by the traffic police, the school bus contractors ferrying students of St Mary’s School have decided not to ply their buses on Friday.
