Teachers must get degrees by March ’19

New Delhi : The Lok Sabha on Friday passed the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (Amendment) Bill allowing teachers appointed on or before March 31, 2015 to acquire minimum qualifications within a period of four years from the date of commencement of the Act.

This gives the 8.5 lakh unqualified teachers, appointed after implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) law, another chance to get recognized degrees. The amendment bill gives them the final chance till March 2019 to get degrees or they may lose jobs. Read the rest of this entry »

PUNE: A change in Right To Education (RTE) forms has been made by the State government to decrease the age limit of children to be admitted under the act by a year. RTE admissions in the city are expected to start soon and the correction has to be kept in mind by parents and education officers.

In the instructions form, on point no 21 ‘B’, a correction has been ordered. “According to a decision on January 2015, the entry of the child for Std I will be 5.4 years as on 30-1-2016 ((January 30, 2016). Read the rest of this entry »

RTE form deadline extended to March 2

Kolhapur : The directorate of primary education has extended the application deadline for the Right to Education (RTE) 25% quota admission process from February 25 to March 2.

Admit 536 students under RTE:Education dept tells schools

As per the survey conducted by the students from National Service Scheme (NSS) and school teachers in north zone, 536 students were found to be not admitted in schools. The education department of north zone has made a list of these students and has asked schools to admit students nearby their schools in the grades appropriate to their age as per the Right to Education (RTE) rule. Of the 13,000-odd allotments given in the first two rounds, only about 55 per cent parents confirmed the admissions while all others rejected them.
