HC asks govt for plan on filling RTE seats

Mumbai: Decks have been cleared for restarting admissions to pre-primary classes under the Right To Education, with the Bombay high court on Tuesday seeking a response from the government on how it plans to fill the seats for the current academic year.

A division bench of Justice Anoop Mohta and Justice Vijay Achliya also asked the state to set up a grievance redressal mechanism so that parents can lodge complaints about the improper implementation of the RTE and schools denying admissions. Read the rest of this entry »

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat high court on Monday directed government officials and school authorities to be circumspect about “garib crorepatis“ who exploit the Right to Education laws. These crorepatis deploy the “garib“ ruse to secure admission for their kids in the quota reserved for poor children. Wastepickers’ association drafts plan to implement RTE Act

Pune:The city-based Kagad Kach Patra Kashtakari Panchayat (KKPKP) in association with the SNDT College has drafted a list of recommendations for effective implementation of the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
