Mumbai : The council for the ICSE has rescheduled the Art Paper II exam with a new set of questions. The Art Paper II, which was to be held on March 25 will now be held on April 7.

The Central Advisory Board for Education’s recommendation to amend the “no-detention“ clause in the Right to Education Act and reintroduce pass-fail system from Class V has struck a chord with the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination.

Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and secretary of the council that conducts ICSE and ISC exams, said in Kolkata they would want to put in place a cumulative assessment system from Classes VI to XII, based on a comprehensive continuous evaluation process. Read the rest of this entry »

School accreditation to start this month

State wants CBSE, ICSE, IB schools to teach Marathi

Mumbai: The state government wants CBSE, ICSE and IB schools to teach Marathi in Class I-VIII and Maharashtra’s history and geography up to Class V.

Education minister Vinod Tawde on Friday met education boards, such as central and international board representatives of Mumbai and Pune, to coordinate with the state board.

He set up a 13-member coordination committee with 10 members from these boards and three state government representatives. The committee will meet once in three months and the minister will take a review every six months. Read the rest of this entry »

Pune: Students who wish to study through an open schooling mode and appear for their standard X and XII exams may not have to look beyond the state board.
