Stress levels are highest a week before exam: Study

New Delhi: With the board exams already been started this week, the stress level in students is at its peak, a new study has revealed.

“A month before the examination only 13 per cent of students felt high stress level, which increased to an alarming 82.2 per cent with the exams just a week away,” the study noted.

According to the study, exam stress can be ‘dangerous’ as it affects students both physically and mentally as they “do not eat properly and not care for hygiene” during exams. Read the rest of this entry »

Board rules out re-exam for question papers gone viral

Pune : The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education clarified on Tuesday that the board would not be conducting any re-exam for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC, Class XII) exam papers whose questions went viral.

The clarification comes against the backdrop of many parents receiving messages on social media about the re-examination of the viral papers.One such message, circulated on cellphone messaging apps, stated that re-exam of Marathi and secretarial practice papers of commerce stream would be held in the coming days. Over 17 lakh to appear for SSC exams

Pune: The SSC (Secondary School Certificate) examination conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will begin on Tuesday. At Abeda Inamdar Junior College in Camp, at least 10 such students turned up after the first bell went off barely 10 minutes before examination was scheduled to start.

While for a majority of students who took the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams on Tuesday, the first paper went off comfortably, for a few unlucky ones, the day involved a hunt for their centres. 15.05L students to appear for HSC exam from today

PUNE: Around 15,05,365 students from the State will appear for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination starting on February 28. Officials from the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) noted that the number is the highest so far for HSC examination.

Last year, 13,88,487 students appeared for the HSC examination. Gangadhar Mamane, Chairman of MSBSHSE told Sakal Times on Monday that the increase in examinees can be attributed to the repeaters’ examination held in July and to the increase in passing percentage. Read the rest of this entry »
