NEW DELHI: The sports branch of the directorate of education has drawn up a new set of guidelines for the 14 swimming pools it owns for the first time in over a decade. The 14-located in government schools across the city-will be open even to children not going to government schools and will be operational from April to November 15 every year. They’ll be free. NEW DELHI: If the constant delays weren’t bad enough, parents hoping for nursery seats say they are being “bullied” by playschools demanding fees for a quarter or even six months for a seat in their own nursery classes. Unsure how the nursery scene will play out, given the number of court cases on the guidelines, some parents are paying up while others have chosen the nervous wait till the court decision. NEW DELHI: The Directorate of Educationissued yet another order on Friday to announce the change in schedule for nursery admissions. The last date for the first list will now be April 7 instead of March 15. While schools serving as centres for the board exams are pleased, the change poses a problem to parents who have already paid the fees. According to the latest order, admissions close on April 25. Big relief, as most hold on to berths

NEW DELHI: Though late in coming, the new order from the Directorate of Education came as a relief. Not only do applicants in categories other than transfer get to hang on to their seats, they also get to participate in more draws. But for most of Thursday, many parents, including a few who were party to the PIL and writ petition that brought the change, were alarmed at the prospect of a ‘fresh draw.’ They feared those who’d secured seats would lose them.
