New assessment pattern by CBSE baffles parents, schools

Principals of several CBSE-affiliated schools have confirmed that a uniform system of assessment and examination has replaced CCE for classes 6 to 9.

While most CBSE schools have already started their academic session, parents are finally coming to terms with a fresh challenge – the new assessment pattern implemented by the board. 2,077 CBSE schools fined for not giving info

New Delhi : The Central Board of Secondary Education has slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on 2,077 affiliated schools across the country and sent them show-cause notices for not complying with its order for making a list of details about the institutions public.

Six subjects mandatory for Std X CBSE exams

New Delhi: Students appearing for Class X board exams from next year will have to study six subjects instead of five with the CBSE remodelling its assessment scheme.

Class X students have to presently study five subjects — two languages, social science, mathematics, and science.

CBSE’s pre-examination counselling begins today

Pune: The Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) pre-examination annual psychological counselling will begin from Thursday (February 9).

The toll free number 1800 11 8004 can be dialed from any part of the country which will give centralised access to CBSE helpline.

While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the principals or counsellors in case of exam-related anxiety or stress. The telephone helpline will be operational from 8 am to 10 pm from February 9 to April 29 on all days. Read the rest of this entry »

In a U-turn, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has clarified the NEET 2017 will be counted as first attempt for all the candidates, irrespective of their previous attempts in AIPMT/NEET. New Delhi : Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X and Class XII board exams would not be delayed on account of the assembly polls in five states in February and March.
