Six subjects mandatory for Std X CBSE exams

New Delhi: Students appearing for Class X board exams from next year will have to study six subjects instead of five with the CBSE remodelling its assessment scheme.

Class X students have to presently study five subjects — two languages, social science, mathematics, and science.

CBSE’s pre-examination counselling begins today

Pune: The Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) pre-examination annual psychological counselling will begin from Thursday (February 9).

The toll free number 1800 11 8004 can be dialed from any part of the country which will give centralised access to CBSE helpline.

While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students will be connected to the principals or counsellors in case of exam-related anxiety or stress. The telephone helpline will be operational from 8 am to 10 pm from February 9 to April 29 on all days. Read the rest of this entry »

In a U-turn, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has clarified the NEET 2017 will be counted as first attempt for all the candidates, irrespective of their previous attempts in AIPMT/NEET. Earlier, the CBSE has announced that aspirants who have already given AIPMT and NEET 2016 over three times are ineligible to appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. New Delhi : Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class X and Class XII board exams would not be delayed on account of the assembly polls in five states in February and March.

NEW DELHI: After making payment of school fees and teachers’ salary cashless, CBSE has advised schools to inculcate habit of cashless transaction among students by introducing smart cards in canteens and tuck-shops.

NEW DELHI : Following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Push for a digital economy, the CBSE has asked all its affiliated schools to start collecting fee through online or a cashless mode from the next quarter commencing from January next year.

In a letter to the schools, CBSE secretary Joseph Emmanuel said that the benefits of cashless transactions are enormous and the CBSE has brought e-payment facilities for collection of examination fee, affiliation and various activities including payments to its examination functionaries.
