Pune: AFTER the GG International school management allegedly did not allows student  to enter the classroom over non payment of fees and made him sit alone in an empty activity room,  parents stormed into the Pimpri police station demanding to file a police complaint in this regard.

The face-off between the parents of the Class IX student Hritik Wable and the management of the school has been going on for the last few days. The student’s father says the school has hiked its fees illegally. The school management says Wable is one of the seven students whose parents were issued notices after they failed to clear fees for a year and while other parents came to discuss me matter. Wable’s  parents allegedly used “threatening” tactics.

“After MahaParents (a parents’ association) met the deputy director of education and presented my son’s case. he instructed the PCMC education officer to accompany my son to the school and ensure he is taken into class But on reaching the school the officer was not allowed inside and told he didn’t have an appointment. They took my son and made him sit alone in a closed activity centre for hours, Since even the education officer was not allowed to go inside. I called the police helpline and the child helpline,” said Vijay Wable, Hritik’s father who lodged a police complaint against the school onTuesday.

While deputy director of education Dinkar Temkar wasn’t available for comment. Asha Ubale, education officer (primary), PCMC, said officials were not allowed to enter the school “However, the school did share some information regarding the child with the education officer (secondary) and included the childs name in the class IX roll call. We have submitted our report  to the deputy director for further action,” she said.

Atul Goel vice-chairman of GGI school said that the parents were trying intimidating tactics for days now. “We we a private unaided school and run on fees paid to us but seven students have not paid fees since a year. We sent letters to the parents of these students saying  we will not be able to continue their admissions for the next year. While the other six parents came to speak to us, this parent has been approaching the media, government officers and NGOs and was not willing to discuss with us On Tuesday, the parent forcibly entered the school and abused the scrutiny as well as the staff. The student was late because of which he was made to sit in a room. When the police came, the student admitted that he wasn’t harmed.” said Goel.

Adding that the school wouldn’t succumb to pressure tactics, God said they have asked the parent to seek admission for his ward elsewhere as he was maligning the school’s reputation. Asked about the education officer not being allowed inside the premises. God said he had no appointment to meet the principal who was teaching and couldn’t be disturbed.
