From Pune rural school classroom, a lesson in Marathi for NRI students in Australia

During the sessions, teachers from both schools were first introduced to the students, who then proceeded to recite Marathi alphabets, numbers, songs and stories.

A couple of months ago, Nagnath Vibhute, a primary teacher in a government-run school at Jambhuldara Bhamb village in rural Pune, came across some interesting information. He got to know that there was a Marathi Vidyalaya in Australia. Curiosity prompted him to research the topic further, and Vibhute soon realised that there were similar schools across the world. Thanjavur (TN): Over a decade after a devastating fire charred to death 94 school children, a local court convicted 10 persons and acquitted 11 others in the ghastly school fire tragedy in Kumbakonam.

Verdict Comes 10 Years After 94 Children Were Burned To Death In Thanjavur

A decade after 94 children were charged to death in the worst school fire tragedy , a court in Thanjavur has awarded life imprisonment to 85-year-old school founder Pulavar Palanichamy .Delivering the much-anticipated and much-delayed judgment on Wednesday , the Thanjavur district principal and sessions court awarded five-year rigorous imprisonment to eight others and a twoyear jail term to one person, whose sentence it later suspended.
