Teachers can end paper check boycott tomorrow

Pune : Teachers of unaided schools, who are boycotting the evaluation of Class X and XII board examination answersheets, may end their protest on Monday .

Officials of unaided teachers’ unions said they were promised their issues would be resolved soon during a meeting with the education minister and top officials of the education department. Pune : Private unaided trusts or academic institutions not receiving any “substantial financial aid“ from the government do not fall within the ambit of the Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005, the state information commission’s Pune bench has ruled.

The bench, presided over by information commissioner Ravindra Jadhav, has set aside an order of February 4, 2015 by the first appeal officer and block education officer of Panchgani panchayat samiti. Read the rest of this entry »

Pune: Issues like regulation of fees in private unaided and minority schools, put ing a cap on term fees and other extra charges taken by schools have not been addressed in the draft Maharashtra Education Institu ions (Regulation of fee) Ru es 2015.

126 unaided engineering colleges under scanner in Maharashtra

Since 1997, inspections were done only at the varsity level, usually when a new engineering college was set up.

Mumbai: Draft rules for the Maharashtra Educational Institutions (Regulation of Fee) Act, 2011, failed to clearly mention unaided schools, which upset many parents. The education department, however, said the final rules will include unaided schools.
