Pune: The Sakal Drawing Competition 2017 has received an overwhelming response from participants from across the State, the country and from abroad. The students participating in the drawing competition from Maharashtra and Goa have the opportunity to win prizes amounting to over Rs 10 lakh. Kadam helps Rosary School clinch gold in 59kg category

Pune: Neeraj Kadam of Rosary School finished with an impressive performance, clinching a gold medal in the Under-16 boys 55 to 59 kg category of the taekwondo event of Sakal Schoolympics 2017 in progress at Pathare Sankul, Kharadi on Saturday. Walking home with the silver medal was Pratik Sathe from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Boys Military School while the bronze medal was won by two players who were Sunit Satpute from Panditrao Agashe English Medium School and Aniket Adhare from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Boys Military School. Pune: Anand Kalel of Rosary School defeated Tejas Pawale of Sahyadri National School, Warje in the Boys Under-14, 28-32kg quarterfinals of the wrestling event of Sakai Schoolymipics 2017 in progress at Sahyadri National School on Saturday. Dhiraj Kshirsagar of Late Capt Shivrampant Damle Prashala, Gultekdi defeated Sameer Marane of Vidya Vikas Vidyalaya, Sahakar Nagar to advance further. Pune : The Bishop’s School, Camp emerged winners in the TCS IT Wiz Pune edition -inter-school quiz.The school will represent the city in the national finals in Mumbai.

Pune : PLAY HELPS CLINCH INTER-COLLEGE EVENT

The New Arts, Science and Commerce College from Ahmednagar created history on Sunday after winning the prestigious Purushottam Karandak, the short play inter-collegiate competition. The college lifted the trophy for their play `Mic’.This was the first time in 36 years that a college from Ahmednagar won this trophy. PMC schools in no shape for Swachh race

Bereft of basic facilities such as toilets and drinking water, 246 out of 312 institutes are still waiting for aid
While the state government has announced a Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar for government schools, institutes run by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) are in such dismal condition that participating in the competition seems out of the question. Out of 312 schools, around 246 schools lack basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets. To make matters worse, the school board is now facing a funding crunch, so it seems unlikely these issues will be addressed anytime soon. Read the rest of this entry »
