Pune: The District Institute of Educational Continuous Professional Development (DIECPD), a government organisation, in collaboration with the Zilla Parishad (ZP), Pune, has organised a teachers’ training workshop for teachers in Pune district as well as within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) areas to train them for teaching the revised syllabus for Std IX. Pune : A large number of secondary school teachers in the state have still to get trained after the syllabi for standards I and VII were changed.

The first quarter of the academic year is almost over and the mandatory training about the changes in the syllabus, teaching methods and references for these classes was not arranged to cover all the teachers. IISER to build activity centre with a focus on school, college students

Pune : The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune will soon start work on a state-ofthe-art activity centre for school and college students with an emphasis on making science more practical and accessible to underprivileged kids.

The building is expected to be named Smt Indrani Balan Science Activity Centre.The centre will be used to impart pedagogical training to teachers and to encourage students to learn science, said an official release from IISER. Read the rest of this entry »

Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) is organising an in-service training session for teachers from May to June.

Special training in Mathematics, Science and English will be imparted to over 1.5 lakh students, who failed in these subjects in class IX in April 2016 and students, who scored less than 45% marks, in the midterm exams of the current academic year. PUNE: The office of the Deputy Director of Education has decided to conduct special workshops for teachers of Std XI and XII to update them on the new competitive syllabus. This step is aimed at discouraging students from joining private coaching classes in Std XI and XII to crack competitive examinations for engineering and medical.

Pune : The deputy director of education, Pune division, will organise a training programme for junior college lecturers, especially from colleges with pass percentage less than 50 in their qualifying exam, on teaching various subjects.
